The 24 year old has made a moderate impact in his debut season at Stamford Bridge but then saw Willian jump the queue to fill the right-sided attacking berth and as a result made just five Premier League starts this term prior to leaving for Wolfsburg

Schurrle doesn’t appear to be bitter about his unsuccessful 18 month stint in West London.

“I wanted to stay but in the last month I leaned towards changing something because I wanted to do what is fun for me – and that is to play football.

“I could only do it briefly at Chelsea in the past weeks.

“I had a good time with Chelsea.”

“I’m still confident and know what I can do.” Schurrle added

Indeed Schurrle certainly showed Wolfsburg fans just what he is capable of during his debut display.

The versatile attacking putting in a superb display, and providing an assist, during his side’s 4-1 win over Bayern Munich.
