UEFA have said they will be unable to act on the alleged racist actions of Chelsea fans on the Paris Metro because it occurred away from a stadium.

Kick It Out Chairman Latest To Condemn Chelsea Racism
Blues supporters were filmed repeatedly preventing a black passenger from boarding a train on the Paris Metro and pushing him onto the platform.
The group then went on to chant; “We’re racist, we’re racist, and that’s the way we like it.”
UEFA say whilst they condemn all forms of discrimination and were appalled by the incident in question they cannot respond themselves as it occurred in the public domain and therefore falls outside their remit

However, they do add that they full support any action that the local authority decided to take on investigating the incident.

FIFA President Sepp Blatter also condemned the actions saying: “There is no place for racism in football.”

A Chelsea statement has said they will support criminal action against any fans who can be identified taking part in the abhorrent racism and that they will take the strongest possible action against them themselves including banning orders.
