Chelsea recently announced record-breaking sponsorship deal.
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has seemingly ended speculation regarding a move for Barcelona star Lionel Messi.
Despite the Argentine claiming that he’s happy at the Catalan club, Messi has left the door open by admitting that he may not end his career at the club.
The finances surrounding any potential deal means Chelsea have been consistently linked with a gigantic move for the four time Ballon d’Or winner.
“I have the feeling that Messi will always be at Barcelona,” Mourinho told La Gazzetta dello Sport’s.
“I may be wrong and nobody knows what will happen in the future.
“My feeling is that a player of his dimension and significance for a club like Barca, I do not see Barcelona opening the door for Messi to go.
“I do not see Messi playing with another shirt which is not Barcelona’s. I may be wrong, but this is my feeling.”
Financial Fair Play guidelines would make such a move all but impossible and any move to see Messi at Stamford Bridge appears nothing short of fantastical.
