Former Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti has admitted that it’s his dream to manage the Italian national team. The current Real Madrid boss, who led the Spanish giants to the Champions League title last season, wants to win the World Cup before he retires.

The 55-year-old, who has also enjoyed success with Juventus, AC Milan and Paris Saint Germain, retains a long-held ambition to take charge of the Azzuri, who have endured a poor record in major tournaments since winning the World Cup in 2006.

“My dream is to coach the Italian national team,” Ancelotti told reporters, who were quoted by Goal.com. “And I hope in the future to realise it, because I’d like to win a World Cup with Italy.”

Madrid currently sit top of the La Liga table, and are aiming for further success under the Italian this season.
