The 25 year old Algerian international impressed many with his efforts at last summer’s World Cup finals, earning a move to the Primeira Liga as a result, and has continued to prove himself in Portugal’s top tier.

The creative midfielder has bagged six goals in 17 domestic league appearances but perhaps most tellingly has notched up five goals in seven Champions League matches, suggesting that Brahimi has what it takes to make an impact at the very highest level.

The Metro claims Brahimi has a £33m release clause and that FC Porto would be unwilling to accept anything less than that fee, and whilst the former Rennes and Granada man is a talented performer one would have to feel that Arsene Wenger has a fair few similar type of players in his Gunners squad and as such a move for the player may seem a little unnecessary.

This source also claims that Man United and AC Milan are also tracking Brahimi.
