Chelsea are ready to make an improved bid to sign Stoke City goalkeeper Asmir Begovic as a replacement for Petr Cech this summer.
The Premier League champions want a backup to Thibaut Courtois for next season, and manager Jose Mourinho seems to have identified Begovic as the ideal candidate to come in.
With Cech joining Arsenal this week, Chelsea are now short of depth between the sticks, and will offer £8m to Stoke for the Bosnian shot-stopper, who is seemingly keen on the move to Stamford Bridge.
According to the Daily Telegraph, the Potters want players on loan in return, with youngsters Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Patrick Bamford among those on Mark Hughes’ radar.
