DONE DEAL: MLS outfit Montreal Impact sign Chelsea legend Didier Drogba

Chelsea legend Didier Drogba has become the latest player to make a switch to the MLS after agreeing to join Montreal Impact on a free transfer.

The 37-year-old has been a free agent since being released by the West London outfit at the end of last season and his decision to sign for Montreal was announced via the club’s official Twitter account on Monday evening.

With the likes of Steven Gerrard, Andrea Pirlo, Kaka and Frank Lampard currently playing in the United States, it appears the reputation of the MLS is getting stronger by the year and this is further enhanced with the addition of one of the best players to ever grace the Premier League.

Drogba returned for a second spell at Stamford Bridge last summer and played a bit-part role in clinching a first league title for the club in five years and his final goal for the side came in the 3-1 win over Leicester City at the end of April, which left the Blues on the brink of being crowned champions of England once again.
