Real Madrid megastar Cristiano Ronaldo has paid tribute to under-fire Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho by proclaiming him the best manager in the world, the Daily Mirror reports.
The ego rich pair didn’t always enjoy the smoothest relationships during their time together at Real Madrid, with an excerpt of Guillem Balague’s new book on the winger even claiming that the two almost came to blows once.
However, Ronaldo displayed a deep respect for Mourinho’s work within the game and gave the manager a much needed confidence boost.
“I would put him at the top, I always say that,” Ronaldo said, speaking to BT Sport.
“He’s a good coach, he did many good things and won many trophies for other clubs.
“My coach is now Benitez and I’m comfortable we are going to win many things together.”
