Liverpool have made a £10 million bid for Schalke forward Leroy Sane, according to reports in Germany.
The 19-year-old attacker is one of the most highly rated players in the Bundesliga, and has been linked with moves to both Manchester United and Liverpool in recent times.
However, as reported by German publication Bild—as per Liverpool fan blog Empire of the Kop—the Reds look to have stolen a lead on their fierce rivals.
The teenage star has scored five goals so far this season, and has also received international recognition, having made his Germany debut in Jogi Low’s side’s ill-fated friendly defeat away to France in Paris on Friday evening.

As a versatile wideman, Sane can feature on either flank, although he is typically used on the right wing and could be a major threat for the Merseyside giants with his dribbling skills, his ball control and his pace.
