Mathieu Valbuena blasts Karim Benzema in scathing interview about his sex tape scandal

France international midfielder Mathieu Valbuena has opened up for the first time to newspaper Le Monde for the first time since news broke of his sextape blackmail.

And he is not happy with international teammate Karim Benzema, who he has very little sympathy for despite since being engulfed in the saga himself.

The report pieces together somewhat of a timeline, with Valbuena claiming that the tape was taken from his phone by an acquaintance who was helping him with some technical stuff.

He was first told about its existence by Djibril Cisse, who has not seen the tape, in May 2015, which also explains why he was brought in for questioning about it.

He was first called about the tape by Police in June, and in October the police told Valbuena that he could be contacted about the sextape on international duty and this is where Karim Benzema comes in.

“Deep down, I tell myself that it’s still weird that he (Benzema) wanted me to meet that person & insisted on it. I’m disappointed, and found that the relationship with Karim is not as sincere as he could pretend it is,” he said.

And though Valbuena admitted that there is a tape in existence, he does not know whether his blackmailers actually have a copy.

On both Cisse and Benzema’s involvement, Valbuena distinguishes between the pair as only the Real Madrid striker wanted him to meet the person who claimed to have a copy of the sextape.
