Nike to make Neymar their top star ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo

There is set to be a huge shakeup at American sportswear giants Nike in the near future as they prepare to shift their focus from Cristiano Ronaldo to Neymar as their top drawing star, according to Mexican financial publication El Economista.

The Real Madrid megastar has been the companies poster boy for the best part of the past decade, where he has boasted the biggest contract and the widest array of products, but it now appears that he is set to be dethroned by his Brazilian counterpart.

As of 2016, Neymar will be pushed as Nike’s biggest star to the detriment of Ronaldo, as a 2 year process reaches culmination.

The report also claims that Nike had been considering the shift BEFORE the 2014 World Cup, but chose to wait until Neymar made a bigger impact on the European football scene.

And now, with Neymar in the ascendancy as Ronaldo very much heading in the opposite direction, they have decided that now is the right time to make the change.
