Liking this latest Nike ad. Very well produced, slick and the point of view focus is very realistic. You will find yourself feeling like you are very much part of the action, which we guess was the whole point of the advert in the first place.

A typically smooth presentation from Nike who are churning out these ads with alarming regularity. We are half expecting the sportswear giants to come up with a North Korea: Write the Future campaign, but perhaps not.

You can’t fault this full length Nike ad, it really hits all the right notes. As always its littered with a who’s who of footballing talent but also feels slick, vibrant and cinematic, and I say this all even though a free pair of boots are not on the way to me in the post.
Wayne Rooney shows he has acting chops and gets knighted and Cristiano Ronaldo plays a narcissistic who dreams of statues of himself lining the streets of Lisbon. Oh and the ad also includes scantily clad go go dancers, what more could you want. Did anyone spot the non-Football celebs? Kobe Bryant, Roger Federer and Gael Garcia Bernal are all there.
Nike have always raised the bar when it comes to their ad campaigns, whether its with a visual feast resplendent with the best footballers of the day to clever off-the-wall avant garde creations like this one below. England fans will of course hope that this alternate reality, which only exists if the Old Trafford hero cocks-up at the World Cup, does come to pass. Very amusing.
Your chance to inspire Old Trafford and Stamford Bridge heroes to national glory.
With the end of the season almost upon us, all eyes turn to the summer of football and the players who will be stepping up for England. Leading the charge from the front, Wayne Rooney will be striking fear into defenders in his Nike T90 Laser III boots. And at the heart of the defence, one of the world’s best left-backs, Ashley Cole, will continue to wear Nike’s CTR 360 boots.
But we did feel the need to make one slight adjustment to their brand new Elite Series footwear before they step onto the world’s biggest stage.
Nike is giving fans the chance to stitch a personal message onto each player’s boots to inspire them from the moment they pull them on. The winning message will be on every pair of boots they wear throughout the tournament. Entering a line gives a fan the chance to get Wayne and Ashley fired up before every England game.
Whose words will they remember when they step onto the pitch?
Up to 12 characters long, the players themselves will each choose the message which will appear on their own boots. CLICK HERE to enter
A pair of Wayne and Ashley’s boots with their respective winning lines stitched in will be unveiled in NikeTown London and of course, they’ll be on show all summer long in South Africa.

It’s Friday therefore it must be time for Celtic Keeper Artur Boruc to get ANGRY!
Sitting on the pitch in front of Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson, 22 wide-eyed amateur footballers watch intently, hanging on the every word that comes out of Sir Alex’s mouth. This could be their last chance at a dream, so all of those involved are soaking in as much of the moment as they can.
For many, the chance to play professional football came and went quicker than a summer breeze. By the age of 14 or 15, most top talents have already been gobbled up by Premier League clubs. And for most, the chance to play for a Championship side becomes increasingly difficult with each passing year. There comes a time later in life when those dreams of playing professional football slowly die. [Read the rest of this entry »]
It is Sunday. A couple of football fields in Islington have over 100 players packed on to them, running through different drills and coaching sessions. It’s a grey day. A few people in coats are stood on the sidelines watching their son, friend or brother.
The heavens open. The spectators and officials all dash for cover, including a coat-less me, as puddles form instantly. The players remain. In the face of a torrential downpour, they carry on with their drills. Showing their determination. Determination to prove themselves. To get noticed. To win.
While Mike Ashley, Kevin Keegan et al lacked the balls to sack Joey Barton after his recent criminal activity, this doesn’t appear to be the case with his sportswear company. Despite them having a dodgy record when it comes to human rights and the environment, at least Nike have had the decency [Read the rest of this entry »]

Cesc Fabregas was voted the PFA Young Player of the Year last week, although that has seemingly done little to appease the talented Spanish midfielder. After all, as this footage on YouTube demonstrates, achievements on the pitch pale into insignificance when it comes to having your ‘own tee-vee show’.
Watching Fabregas on this video, you can picture him lobbing a slice of pizza at Sir Alex Ferguson. Nevertheless, ‘The Cesc Fabregas Show: Nike Live’ looks worth tuning into on Sky Sports 1. You can catch it on Monday 19th May, where the Arsenal number four talks about his career to date. The programme will also feature other stars of the game, including Arsene Wenger, a bit like ‘This Is Your Life’ I guess.
COS are particularly interested in how the North London club managed to swipe Fabregas from Barcelona in his formative years, along with some idea over how long the playmaker is planning to stay at Ashburton Grove.
