Manchester United tried and failed to land Gareth Bale when he made his record-setting move from Tottenham Hotspur to Real Madrid back in 2013. Several years later, the club are chasing him again and are willing to make a mega-offer to the La Liga giants to get the man they want.

According to the Metro, Man United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward is going to open up the wallet for a massive transfer offer to land Bale. Per the source, the club are willing to pay more than £85 million to secure his signature, and would be willing to go as high as £90 million to bring him into the fold.

In three seasons with Real Madrid, Bale has scored 51 goals in 108 appearances and made over 30 assists.

Man United hold the record for the highest transfer fee paid for a player in Premier League history, a £59.7 million deal with Real Madrid for Angel Di Maria in the 2014 summer transfer window.
