Chelsea target tempted to join exodus to China with lucrative deal on table

PSG forward Ezequiel Lavezzi has been linked with a big-money move to China with reports suggesting he’s open to snubbing interest from Chelsea and Inter.

The Argentine international’s current contract expires at the end of the season, and he had been linked with an exit from the French capital in the January transfer window in order for the club to avoid losing him for nothing in the summer.

According to Sky Sport Italia, as reported by Football Italia, Lavezzi can now begin to negotiate a new deal with another club and he has been persuaded to consider Shanghai Shenhua.

The contract offer is understood to be worth a staggering €10m per year plus bonuses, although recent reports have claimed it could actually be worth up to €16m.

Given that the Chinese transfer window is still open, they could tempt the former Napoli star away from France before the summer, as the spending continues from the Eastern giants.

Ramires, Jackson Martinez and Gervinho are the latest stars to make the move across, while it has been reported that Zenit rejected a €90m bid from Shanghai for Hulk.

It remains to be seen which other top names from Europe are tempted to move to China, as the powerhouses in the CSL continue to throw significant money at strengthening their respective squads and the league as a whole.
