Jose Mourinho ‘on the brink’ of agreeing Man United deal

The Sun are reporting that reports in Italy are claiming that former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is on the brink of agreeing a deal to take over as manager of Manchester United.

Sky Sports journalist Alessandro Alciato took to his Twitter account to report that a deal between the two is close as a reaction to the news that cross town rivals Manchester City have hired Pep Guardiola.

The Special One is now the favourite to replace Louis van Gaal at 6-4 to become the next Red Devils manager.

Mourinho has long courted the Old Trafford job, and it now seems as though it could happen soon as Louis van Gaal continues to court criticism over his drab style of play.

However, the report also claims that United want the Dutchman to see out the final year of his deal before installing Mourinho as his successor at the end of next season.
