So close and yet so far away. In a game where shots for Man City were almost non-existent, Sergio Aguero‘s best shot of the day simply wasn’t good enough to get in the net and get the crucial away goal against Real Madrid, allowing Los Blancos to get the win in the Champions League Semi-Finals by virtue of a 1-0 aggregate.
Aguero struggled in the Champions League for the majority of the tournament, scoring just twice in ten appearances but only one in the knockout round.
Man City midfielder Fernando was held responsible for the lone goal of the two legs, deflecting a shot from Gareth Bale that bounced into the top left corner for a Real Madrid goal.
Neither the healthy Cristiano Ronaldo nor Gareth Bale contributed any goals in the game as Real Madrid went on to win 1-0.
Man City had upset PSG to reach their first-ever Champions League Semi-Final.
