Liverpool on the verge of completing next major summer signing

Liverpool are reportedly close to securing the €12m signing of Udinese midfielder Piotr Zielinski, according to reports in Poland.

According to Polish news outlet Przeglad Sportowy, the Reds could finalise an agreement by Monday with the 21-year set to put pen-to-paper on his deal with the Premier League outfit later this week.

The midfield ace has impressed during his two-year loan spell at Empoli, playing an integral role in their success this season in particular.

However, he has been linked with a move to Merseyside for months, and now appears to be on the cusp of securing his move to join Jurgen Klopp’s men.

Zielinski has scored five goals and provided six assists in 35 appearances this season, but given his age and room for improvement, he will naturally harbour hopes of developing his game further in the coming years.

Klopp has seemingly identified him as a top prospect that he can help take to the next level, and so now it will be interesting to see how he fares in the Premier League, should the move be completed.

Coupled with the signings of Joel Matip and Marko Grujic, the Reds squad appears to be taking shape early in the summer transfer market, but Klopp will no doubt have aspirations of further strengthening his group in the coming months ahead of what could be an exciting first full season in charge at Anfield for the German tactician.
