World’s wealthiest footballers: Man United striker among top six earners, along with Barca duo and CSL pair

Graziano Pelle’s mega-money move to Shandong Luneng has reportedly made him one of the world’s wealthiest footballers.

Italian forward Pelle joined Shandong from Southampton for £13m on Monday, according to the Daily Mail.

The same newspaper report that Pelle will earn £260,000 a week with the Chinese Super League club.

Pelle’s wages see him join new Manchester United signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic in fifth place on a list – compiled by the Daily Mail – featuring the world’s top six wealthiest footballers, in terms of their current weekly wage.

Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo tops the list on £346,000, while his great rival Lionel Messi of Barcelona is joint-second on £327,000.

Pelle is not the only Chinese Super League player in the top six, with Shanghai SIPG frontman Hulk matching Messi’s pay.

Brazilian Barca boy Neymar sits fourth in £312,000.
