Graziano Pelle’s mega-money move to Shandong Luneng has reportedly made him one of the world’s wealthiest footballers.
Italian forward Pelle joined Shandong from Southampton for £13m on Monday, according to the Daily Mail.
The same newspaper report that Pelle will earn £260,000 a week with the Chinese Super League club.
Pelle’s wages see him join new Manchester United signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic in fifth place on a list – compiled by the Daily Mail – featuring the world’s top six wealthiest footballers, in terms of their current weekly wage.
Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo tops the list on £346,000, while his great rival Lionel Messi of Barcelona is joint-second on £327,000.
Pelle is not the only Chinese Super League player in the top six, with Shanghai SIPG frontman Hulk matching Messi’s pay.
Brazilian Barca boy Neymar sits fourth in £312,000.
This list could well change as what could prove to be the craziest summer transfer window of all time continues to shock.
