Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is facing the possibility of beginning the season without three of his star names according to SkySports.

Arsenal are facing an early season crisis following reports stating that Olivier Giroud, Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil could all miss the opening games of the upcoming campaign.

SkySports states that Olivier Giroud, Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil were all absent from the Gunners latest friendly clash with Ligue 2 side Lens and are all doubts for their season opener against Liverpool on August 14.

Both Olivier Giroud and Mesut Ozil have been given extended leave following their participation in Euro 2016. Sanchez meanwhile featured in the Copa America and picked up an injury in the final against Argentina.

The French tactician is expected to particularly miss Ozil who was voted as Germany’s ‘player of the tournament’ for Euro 2016.

The 27-year-old scored one goal and provided one assist during Germany’s run to the semi finals. Ozil also boasted a pass accuracy of 91% and created 48 chances for his team-mates throughout Euro 2016.
