Chelsea’s media team came under fire this week over a tweet sent out during the club’s pre-season clash with Liverpool in Pasadena on Thursday.
Cesc Fabregas received a straight red card following a dangerous tackle on Ragnar Klavan, although the Blues went on to claim victory in the International Champions Cup clash with Gary Cahill scoring the only goal of the game.
Perhaps watching a different game from the rest of the supporters though, the individual in charge of the club’s official Twitter account suggested that the red card was a “little harsh” which drew a response from various individuals.
A Liverpool fan also joined in and questioned the assessment of the tackle, but it was the reaction from Chelsea’s own fans that struck a chord as ultimately they pretty much conceded across the board that the foul was worthy of a red.
A “little harsh” or fully warranted? Check out the foul below and decide for yourselves…
Cesc Fabregas receives a red card for a foul on Ragnar Klavan. It was a late challenge but it seems a little harsh. #CFCTour
