Mauro Icardi to Arsenal: Wanda Nara flies to London as more talks planned with Gunners

The agent of Inter striker Mauro Icardi is reportedly set to fly to London in order to discuss a possible transfer with Arsenal further.

The 23-year-old has been a consistent source of goals for the Nerazzurri over the past two years, and in turn it’s no surprise that he has appeared on the transfer radar of the Gunners.

With Arsene Wenger still looking to sign a new forward ahead of the Premier League campaign, it appears as though the Argentine international is becoming their top target.

According to Calciomercato, Wanda Nara is expected to arrive in London on Thursday where she will stay for a few days and discuss a possible move to the Premier League giants.

It isn’t the first time that the north London outfit have been linked with a move to Icardi, and so it remains to be seen whether or not any further progress is made this time round.

The report goes on to add that the wish of Icardi is to ultimately stay at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, but disagreements over his contract and promises of adjustments have led to speculation that he could consider his options.

It’s worth noting that perhaps this is part of a bigger plan from the pair, in that welcoming attention and offers from elsewhere could force Inter’s hand and get them the deal that they desire.

However, with Napoli’s interest leading to a possible €65m offer, as noted by Calciomercato, coupled with Arsenal now potentially getting involved in the matter, Icardi could indeed find himself with a new club ahead of the transfer deadline at the end of this month.

Inter have remained adamant that they don’t wish to lose their first-choice forward, but with the numbers being discussed, it could potentially test their resolve.
