Chelsea transfer news: Turkish giants fly in to sign international striker

The Turkish Super League champions Besiktas’ president Fikret Orman has flown into London to hold talks with Chelsea over the signing of Loic Remy.

A source close to the club has told Caught Offside’s Eren Sarigul that Orman has made his second trip to London this month with the view of signing Remy on a season long loan

Meanwhile the Turkish sports newspaper Fanatik state that the Black Eagles are willing to cover €3.5 million of Remy’s €4.5 million per-season salary.

Besiktas are running out of time to find a replacement for Mario Gomez going into the Champions League campaign. The Germany international netted 26 goals last season and played a key role in Besiktas winning the Turkish Super League title, earning himself a recall to the Germany national team in the process.

Remy’s future at Chelsea has been cast in doubt after the Blues boss Antonio Conte dropped him from the squad for the opening two games of the Premier League.
