Mourinho reveals Chelsea boss Roman Abramovich was never his ‘friend’

Manchester United take on Chelsea in the Premier League on Sunday in one of the most eagerly anticipated Premier League games of the week.

The match up will see United boss Jose Mourinho take on his former club Chelsea. The Portuguese manager has had two stints at the Blues and is one of the West London based outfit’s most successful managers.

Mourinho spoke of his time at Chelsea and was quoted by the Sun as stating that club president Roman Abramovich was never his friend and that they had a purely professional relationship.

“He was never my friend. We always had the relationship of owner-manager. A very respectful relationship,” Mourinho said.

The United head coach did however, underline that he has a lot of respect for Abramovic even though they were not close.

“We were never close to each other. So, no. He is just a person that I keep very respected,” he aded.

 Mourinho won five trophies at Chelsea over the course of his two spells at the club including three Premier League titles.
The experienced manager will return to Stamford Bridge for the first time since being sacked by the club back in December – seven months after winning the Premier League tile.
