Thierry Henry warns Arsenal fans who want Arsene Wenger out to be ‘careful’ what they wish for

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has warned fans of the club who want head coach Arsene Wenger out to be careful what they wish for.

There were calls for Wenger to be sacked by sections of the fans over the summer but an impressive run of form has helped silence the critics for the time being.

Henry revealed that the fans will only truly appreciate what Wenger brought to the club once he has gone and by that time it will be too late.

“Be careful what you wish for because when he’s not going to be around people are going to realise what he was doing at the time,” Henry told the London Evening Standard.

Henry also stated that it would be great for Wenger to win the league title on his 20th season in charge of the club but underlined that there is a lot of competition and that it will be no easy task.

“It looks like finally things are going the right way,” he added.

“It would be great if in his 20th season in charge he can win the title.

“But are they going to do it? The competition is massive.”

The Gunners are currently joint first in the league table on 21 points alongside Manchester City and Liverpool.

The North London based outfit take on Sunderland next at the Stadium of Light which also happens to be the same stadium Henry scored his last goal for the club.
