It was a disappointing day for anyone affiliated with Manchester United, as they were held to a goalless draw by Burnley at Old Trafford.
It wasn’t for the want of trying, as the Telegraph reveal the 37 attempts at goal United had today was the most they have had in a league game in over a decade.

It’s incredible to think that they could have that many shots and still not manage to find the back of the net. Their inefficiency will no doubt be a worry for manager for Jose Mourinho. Notably Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s, his 12 efforts took his tally to 35 in the last six Premier League games – none of which resulted in a goal.
Manchester United slip to eighth place, trailing Watford on goal-difference and eight points behind leaders Manchester City. Mourinho can take encouragement from the fact his side are creating chances, an aspect of their game that they struggled with under Louis Van Gaal. The reality is, however, goals win games.
