Manchester United star trains alone as he continues to struggle under Jose Mourinho

Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s difficult start to life at Manchester United is seemingly showing no signs of abating as he remains on the fringes of Jose Mourinho’s plans.

The Armenian international was again left out of the squad at the weekend as he watched on from the stands with United being held to a frustrating goalless draw by Burnley at Old Trafford.

Having failed to feature since September 10 when he aggravated an injury during the Manchester derby and was subsequently replaced at half-time, Mkhitaryan has been limited to just five appearances in all competitions so far this season.

As reported by The Daily Mail, the former Borussia Dortmund star was seen leaving the club’s AON training complex alone on Sunday, which will undoubtedly add further attention to his situation at United.

To his credit, he has remained professional throughout, as he continues to support his teammates on social media, as seen in the post below.

Nevertheless, his lack of playing time and mere involvement on match days will be a disappointment for him, with Mourinho still apparently unconvinced that he is match fit and ready to return from his previous injury problem.

United could do with his creativity and quality in the final third sooner rather than later though having scored just 13 goals in 10 league games so far this season. That in turn has contributed to the fact that they remain in eighth place in the standings.
