Arsenal have an extra hunger to win the Premier League title this season according to the Gunners Chile international forward Alexis Sanchez.
Sanchez has revealed the secret behind the desire which drives him on the field. The 27-year-old told the Mirror that he determined to win the league title this season and plays every game as if it is his last.
“You have to play at 100 per cent in every game,” Sanchez was quoted as saying by the Mirror.
“When you finish playing football nobody will remember you. I play every match as if it were my last and that motivates me to do the best I can every day.
“More than hunger, what we were missing last season was the little details that can go against you in a game. Those are the things that mean that you have to be 100 per cent focused.”
Sanchez’s efforts have not gone unnoticed as he has been nominated for he FIFA Player of the Year 2016 award.
His impressive form for the Gunners and have lead Arsenal to joint top of the Premier League with 23 points after ten games. Sanchez has provided seven assists and scored eight goals in 14 games this season.
The former Barcelona man also won the Copa America with Chile over the summer.
Arsenal take on their north London rivals Tottenham this weekend in the Premier League as they look to maintain their 15 game unbeaten run.
