Chelsea and Tottenham receive setback as Bundesliga giants emerge as favourites to sign Real Madrid midfielder

Chelsea and Tottenham have received a setback in their bids to sign Real Madrid midfielder Isco as Bayern Munich have emerged as favourites for his signature, report Spanish site DonBalon.

DonBalon report that both Premier League clubs have shown interest in Isco, but Carlo Ancelotti’s Bayern are in the driving seat to sign him.

Isco joined Los Blancos in the summer of 2013 from Malaga, but in recent seasons has found his opportunities limited as President Florentino Perez continues to add attacking talent to his squad.

Being out of favour at the Bernabeu is an unfair reflection of Isco’s quality. He remains one of the most industrious and exciting attacking midfielders in Europe and would be a worthwhile addition to both Chelsea or Tottenham.

With Cesc Fabregas falling down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge, Conte could perhaps do with adding a player of a similar breed to his squad. Across the capital at Tottenham, Christian Eriksen is struggling for form and hasn’t scored in the Premier League so far this campaign. Mauricio Pochettino could look to add competition for places in the Spurs midfield.

Unfortunately for them both, it DonBalon believe a move to Bayern is most likely if Isco decides to leave the European champions.
