The majority of Tottenham Hotspur supporters have been left furious after reports on Monday that Harry Kane’s contract talks have been halted.
As noted by The Sun, the England international currently earns £60,000-a-week, that’s £35,000-a-week less than summer signing Moussa Sissoko.
Despite the fact that Kane is an integral part of Spurs’ hopes for the future having shown his class over the last year in particular, it has been reported that negotiations over an extension have been shelved.
Unsurprisingly, that hasn’t sat well with Tottenham fans, who reacted to the news on Twitter with many hitting out at the club over not paying their top goalscorer the big money that he deserves.
Others have questioned what Sissoko is doing earning £95,000-a-week in the first place, while some have slammed The Sun over the report questioning it’s legitimacy.
Nevertheless, it’s ultimately been a negative reaction across the board and Spurs fans will be hoping that they see their prized asset follow in the footsteps of several of his teammates and commits his long-term future to the club.
Kane topped the Premier League goalscoring charts last season and was an obvious absentee in recent weeks through injury as Spurs struggled for goals in a barren run.
He returned and scored in the north London derby prior to the international break, and it’s clear his importance to Tottenham isn’t lost on the supporters.
Sissoko 95k per week.
Tottenham are reluctant to pay Kane above 65k. Sigh. ?

Typical Levy- won't pay out for Kane's wages to match Moussa Sissoko's!
Kane deserves everything he asks for. #COYS #THFC
