Red Devils star in red wine contreversy.
Wayne Rooney did not play in England’s 2-2 draw with Spain last night.
And, judging by these pictures published by The Sun, that is no surprise because the Man United skipper was reportedly absolutely hammered on Sunday morning.

The official reason for Rooney’s absence vs the 2010 world champions was a minor knee injury, so it would be wrong to suggest that his alleged boozy bender had anything to do with it.
However, a skinful of plonk is surely not the best way for an athlete to deal with a mid-season knock.
The Sun claim that Rooney and Everton defender Phil Jagielka, both wearing England football kit, joined a wedding party in Hertfordshire on Saturday night.
Rooney was paralytic, say The Sun, who also claim that he could barely stand or speak after going hard at the red wine.

Jagielka still managed to appear against Spain, despite this all happening just two days before the game.
However, the Three Lions did concede two goals after the Everton man replaced Gary Cahill on 45 minutes.
