Tottenham star delights fans as he insists he’s ignoring £50m bid rumours

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli has insisted that he isn’t paying any attention to speculation of a £50m bid from French giants Paris Saint-Germain.

As noted by Sky Sports, the England international had been linked with a move to Ligue 1 this month as his form and rise over the last year or so has seemingly attracted interest from around Europe.

The 20-year-old was a key figure in Spurs’ success last season after joining the club from MK Dons, and although the campaign ended in disappointment for the club, he was able to pick up the PFA Young Player of the Year award and is now a regular with the national team.

However, given how well he’s developed since moving to White Hart Lane, he has insisted that Tottenham are the best club for him, a statement that will undoubtedly leave supporters delighted as Mauricio Pochettino has made a point of getting his key players to commit their long-term futures with new contracts.

“It’s all just rumours to be honest with you,” he said, as reported by Sky Sports.

“I have just signed a new contract with Tottenham, I am happy here. I couldn’t think of a better place to be at my age.

“It has been a great year for me, I have had a lot of success in my career so far but I have got to keep improving, keep getting better, and make sure 2017 is even better.”

Tottenham will have to improve across the board if they want to build on last season though, as they sit three points adrift of the top four in the Premier League table after 15 games.

They’re 10 points behind league leaders Chelsea, and so they can ill-afford to drop too many more points if they harbour ambitions of remaining in contention for the title.
