Arsenal fans hearing stories about their star man Alexis Sanchez leaving in the summer have probably been dismissing them out of hand.
The idea that the Chilean might really move to China or somewhere similar has never really been credible. He is too competitive to let himself drop to a lower standard of competition at such a young age.
However with his contract dispute showing no sign of ending, fears at the Emirates may be growing a little more concrete – especially given the word from today’s Sun that Juventus are circling too.
The Italian superclub are apparently keen to bring Sanchez back to the country in which he first made his name in Europe, and with Arsenal unwilling to pay top dollar, they might just manage it.
Losing Sanchez would be a bitter blow – he’s one of the most popular players in recent Arsenal history, and letting him slip away for the sake of a few million pounds would be a total disaster.
