Arsenal put huge combined £30m-a-season contracts on table to keep indispensable duo

Arsenal are reportedly set to make one last push to tie up new contracts for Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil with a mega £30m combined offer.

The pair will see their respective current deals expire next summer, and so after countless delays, there is a great deal of concern over whether or not Arsenal will be able to keep hold of them moving forward.

Despite winning the FA Cup, the Gunners missed out on Champions League football after disappointingly finishing fifth in the Premier League, and with that lack of progress and ability to compete has come the suggestion that the key duo could move on.

According to The Mirror though, Arsenal are ready to offer significant deals to try and persuade them to stay. Sanchez will reportedly be offered £275,000-a-week+ for two years, while Ozil already has an offer worth £280,000-a-week on the table, although it’s added he’s been pushing for around £350k-a-week.

Along with Arsene Wenger’s future, it’s expected that Sanchez and Ozil will be discussed at the club’s board meeting on Tuesday which promises to deliver some critical answers on some crucial situations at the Emirates.

Sanchez enjoyed a stellar campaign this past year, scoring 30 goals and providing 19 assists in 51 appearances in all competitions to firmly establish himself as Arsenal’s talisman.

It wasn’t all smooth sailing for Ozil as he was singled out for criticism on numerous occasions when things went wrong for the Gunners, but he still managed 12 goals and 14 assists in 44 games.

Losing either or both will be a major blow for Wenger and the north London giants. In turn, the time has come for them now to put their best possible offers on the table and hope that it’s enough to convince Sanchez and Ozil that the pieces are in place to ensure that Arsenal will be successful moving forward.
