Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is reportedly considering making as many as four new signings before the end of the summer transfer window.
After a quiet window so far, the Red Devils have only brought in Fred, Diogo Dalot and Lee Grant, only one of whom instantly looks like strengthening the starting XI that finished so far behind Manchester City last season.

Clearly more is needed in almost every area of the pitch, and the Independent claim Mourinho could still make a splash late on this summer as the club look to get into gear.
The report states the Portuguese is keen on signing Bayern Munich duo Robert Lewandowski and Thiago Alcantara, who are both said to be available.
Both are among the finest players in Europe in their respective positions, and would give United a great deal more quality in attack – an area they were lacking in last season.
Lewandowski could be an upgrade on Romelu Lukaku up top, while having a creative player like Alcantara in there would give them a useful link between midfield and attack that has been lacking.
At the back, the Independent suggest United could still strengthen with two defensive signings in Tottenham’s Toby Alderweireld and Juventus’ Alex Sandro.
Although the report claims talks broke down over raiding Spurs for Alderweireld earlier this summer, there is optimism inside the club that something could still happen, as is the case with Sandro.
The Independent stress that the latter deal, however, may hinge on how Luke Shaw does in terms of impressing Mourinho, with the Metro recently reporting that the 23-year-old has made a great start after smashing fitness tests so far to wow the manager and his staff.
