Arsenal ace’s future in immediate danger as Gunners eye Schulte

It would appear that Mikel Arteta and Edu are already planning for next season regardless whether Arsenal manage to secure a long-awaited Premier League title in 2023/24.

The North Londoners have certainly showed their mettle this season and at the time of writing are at the summit of the English top-flight.

Arsenal want Patrick Schulte to replace Aaron Ramsdale

With 10 games left to play, the destination of the trophy is effectively in their hands.

They do play Man City in their next match which could have a huge bearing on things, however, and they also need to visit the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and Old Trafford as well as play some other tricky games against teams chasing a European finish.

Arsenal are likely to move Aaron Ramsdale on this summer

Therefore, things could go right to the wire this season and the Gunners could still find themselves trophyless.

Arteta’s side are clearly getting nearer to landing the top prize though, and it’s perhaps with that in mind that they’re looking to acquire USA goalkeeper Patrick Schulte as a replacement for Aaron Ramsdale, per The Telegraph (subscription required).

It’s clear that the Gunners need significant strength in depth in all areas from back to front, and the move for the 23-year-old Columbus Crew custodian suggests that they want to draw a line under Ramsdale’s time at the club.

  1. the lad Ramsdale clearly is in love with the game , we can see his heart sings when playing and absolutely deserves the chance to prove himself somewhere as the natural successor to Pickford .

He will always be hailed as a hero by Gooners ,every man , woman child and purple fridge of us

    1. Couldn’t agree more with your comment. It’s going to hurt seeing him playing for another club, as he quite clearly loves the club, but he’s too good of a keeper to be playing second fiddle to David Raya, and he is the best English keeper around. I wasn’t happy with his treatment by Mikel, but if we’re going to keep challenging for top honours, a manager with a team first attitude and a ruthless streak is a non negotiable. Cmon Arsenal.
