Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is reportedly now in pole position to be named the next permanent manager of Manchester United.
The Norwegian tactician has made a flying start at Old Trafford, winning all six of his six opening games in charge of the club.

While some of those wins have come against teams struggling at the wrong end of the Premier League table, United’s 1-0 win away to Tottenham at the weekend has shown Solskjaer is the real deal.
It remains to be seen if the former United striker will end up getting the nod for the big job, but the latest from the Sun is that he appears to have moved ahead of Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino in the running.
The report explains that Ed Woodward visited Solskjaer in the United changing room after the win at Wembley to congratulate him, and that he and the board have become increasingly impressed by his work.
The 45-year-old took United players to Dubai for a special training trip before the Tottenham game, and the Sun claim his tactical work there has gone down very well.
This of course helped lead to one of the team’s most convincing performances of the season with the win against Spurs, so it could end up being a pivotal moment.
The Sun also claim his quick improvement of players like Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford has not gone unnoticed.
