The Sun reports that Italian giants Juventus will almost certainly launch a bid for Chelsea’s star midfielder Frank Lampard. The British tabloid quotes the Juve director Gianluca Pessotto as saying:
He is an excellent player. I feel we will be able to buy players of his class in the summer.
A huge hint really. Yet somehow you don’t feel that Juve will be able to pull off the coup. Lampard might have just 14 months left on his current contract at Chelsea, but he is frequently quoted as declaring that he loves life at Stamford Bridge and that he doesn’t want to switch clubs. Moreover, at the moment, Chelsea are in a healthier position than Juventus are and so there is no need for Frank Lampard to play for the Old Lady of Turin.
