It does appear that Wenger’s wait for this French star is almost over!
ARSENAL are still confident of securing the signature of Marseille midfielder Samir Nasri, despite the deal stalling for several days.
The Gunners were keen to wrap up a deal for the talented star, but that has suffered a setback because of Marseille’s pursuit of Lyon winger Hatem Ben Arfa.
The two Ligue 1 clubs are still arguing over an appropriate fee, even though Ben Arfa has already stated his desire to move.
The French international has insisted that he will not return to Lyon even though his side claim that no agreement has been reached.
Rumours have since followed that the Nasri transfer to north London was now dead in the water after it was prematurely announced that he had signed for the Gunners last week. (West Essex and East London Guardian)
It seems Nasri is already an Arsenal player with just an announcement to come from both sides before the Frenchman has his photo taken at the Emirates Stadium with Lassana Diarra’s old number 8 shirt. (goonertalk)
When Samir Nasri signs for Arsenal, and he surely is on his way, Gunners fans will breathe a collective sigh of relief. The talented attacking midfielder is really an ideal signing for the club as he possesses all the traits associated with Arsene Wenger’s young squad however he also has four years of solid top level experience to boot and that could be crucial to the clubs title aspirations next term. So Gunners fans what do you hope the Marseille man will bring to the Emirates?
