This Spanish international is said to be close to a move to the Premier League with Juande Ramos and Arsene Wenger very keen to sign the Real Madrid man.
Arsenal, Tottenham and Aston Villa could soon be locked in a three-way fight for Real Madrid midfielder Ruben de la Red.
The Barclays Premier League trio are understood to have made enquiries about the availability of de la Red who was part of Spain’s victorious European Championship squad.
Real sold de la Red to neighbours Getafe last summer for £2.4m but exercised their option to bring de la Red back to the Berbanbeu for £3.6m just 12 months later. Real now rate the 23-year-old at around £15m. (Daily Mail)
Tottenham have many midfielders at present but the addition of a player such as de la Red would be a very intelligent signing. He could also combine well with the excellent Luka Modric. Ruben will be keen to prove his worth after a stuttering spell at the Bernabeu. Arsenal also seem keen to invest in the 23 year old and Arsene Wenger has earmarked a few Euro 2008 performers including Ruben. Do Spurs fans think that JR should invest further in the midfield or are there other areas more in need of additions? Do Arsenal fans hope that their esteemed boss starts adding to his squad soon?
