Is Wenger about to lose another first team starter?
Juventus are eyeing Arsenal attacker Robin van Persie.
Tuttosport says Juve see the Dutch ace as an ideal replacement for veteran Pavel Nedved.
The Bianconeri intend to move for Van Persie next summer and rate the forward in the £18 million class. (tribalfootball.com)
A month or so ago, RVP was supposedly demanding a mega-bucks pay increase, but that whole issue seemed to subside, even though he was worryingly quoted as saying:
“They won’t pay enormous amounts of money. If you are 27 or 28, I can understand that you would make the decision to go elsewhere if you can earn three or four times as much.”
Now what will the Dutchman do if this report is accurate and Claudio Ranieri offers the striker more than he is paid by Arsenal? I agree with Wenger’s policy to financially cripple the club with obscene wage packets and, if a player chooses to chase the money rather than stick with a club with such potential and such history as the Gunners, then that is down to the individual and Arsene is totally correct in his thinking. Do Arsenal fans think that Van Persie will consider moving to Italy in search of a better deal?
