Wenger has announced his intentions to make at least one signing of note before the window closes, could this Premier League ace be that one player?
Sources at Arsenal have confirmed that manager Arsène Wenger is willing to sanction the sale of the Togo international and it is understood that if the Italians can meet Arsenal’s valuation, a deal could go through as early as this week.
Wenger will then turn his attention to capturing Blackburn striker Santa Cruz, who would cost about £11.5m, as a direct replacement for Adebayor. (Times Online)
Roque Santa Cruz would fit perfectly at the Emirates, and it appears that the Blackburn man is generally a player that the Arsenal fans would be keen on signing. The Paraguayan has already proven his ability to score shedloads of goals in the Premier League, and one can only imagine how much more prolific he could be, given the service he would get from the north London club. Paul Ince has made it clear he doesn’t want to sell any of his stars, but now it appears that the price tag on Bentley has scared off suitors. Maybe Roque will be the player to leave in the summer sales? Would Gunners fans welcome a bid for the sharp shooter?
