You might as well turn back the clocks to remember this deal. It only seems like yesterday that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger was chasing this fantastic Italian, in an attempt to secure his signature. After falling to Juventus over the weekend, it now appears that Wenger is being linked with a move once again for the Italian shot-stopper. With Juve about to enjoy their second consecutive season in Seria A after the match fixing incident, the club would be crazy to part with one of their most important pieces. Arsenal could do with a better option than Manuel Almunia, but if the club really thinks they’re going to pry Buffon away, then they better be prepared to pay a massive transfer fee.
What do Arsenal supporters think about a move for Buffon? Do you think the club needs a more secure option than Almunia?
