Aston Villa full-back Alan Hutton has completed a loan move away from the club after joining Real Mallorca for the remainder of the season.

Scotland international Hutton has not played for Villa this season since the arrival of new manager Paul Lambert, who left him out of the club’s 25-man Premier League squad, and was loaned out to Nottingham Forest earlier in the campaign.

The 28-year-old, who cost Aston Villa £3million when signing from Tottenham in 2011, was told he could leave the club during the January transfer and finalised a deal to join relegation-threatened La Liga side Real Mallorca.

“I hope to give all I have to offer,” Hutton told Real Mallorca’s website. “I am very excited to come to this club. I was very excited to be able to come to play in Spain.

“For me it is a new project, a new league, a new country, and I have come with lots of knowledge because I’ve been able to speak with players I know. I knew about the interest from Mallorca about two months ago, and from then on I told my agent it was my first and only choice.”
