Santos striker impressed by Balotelli’s performance in Italy vs Brazil game.
Brazilian wonderkid has admitted his admiration for former Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli according to ESPN.
The Santos striker has said he is a ‘big fan’ of the mercurial forward after Balotelli netted a stunning equaliser in Italy’s 2-2 draw with Brazil.
Neymar went on to say that he had been inspired by Balotelli’s career and was keen to follow in the footsteps of the Italian.
The Italian media did not give Balotelli such a warm response however. The AC Milan star was criticised for failing to convert a number of good chances in front of goal.
But Italy manager Cesare Prandelli defended Balotelli, insisting the player is still young and is adapting to International football.
Pradenlli stated his belief that it was only a matter of time before Balotelli replicates his form for AC Milan at the highest level.
Neymar has been linked with a number of top European sides after a string of impressive performances for Brazilian club Santos.
The likes of PSG, Bayern Munich and Barcelona have all been linked with the player’s signature but reports in recent weeks have suggested the player is set to remain in his homeland until after Brazil host next summer’s World Cup finals.
