Dutch side considering offer from Italian club for midfielder.
Dutch giants have Feyenoord have confirmed they have received a bid from Italian side Fiorentina for midfielder Jordy Clasie according to talkSport.
The youngster has become one of the hottest properties in Europe after a string of impressive performances in the Eredivisie.
Reports in recent months have strongly linked the player with a move to the Premier League, with Tottenham thought to be leading the chase for the player’s signature.
But it now appears that Fiorentina have stolen a march on their English rivals by making an early approach for Clasie.
But Feyenoord are keen not to rush into a decision and are set to wait until the end of the season before deciding whether to let the player go.
They are eager to see whether other interested clubs will improve on the offer made by the Italian giants.
The bid is the second offer from the Serie A club after they had a £4.3 million bid rejected earlier in the year.
Fiorentina are desperate to bring the player to Italy though and it is thought they have now returned with an improved bid of £5.6 million.
Tottenham’s willingness to match that figure may depend on whether they are able to secure the signing of Tom Ince from Blackpool.
