Anfield club ready to make move for Danish youngster.
Liverpool are preparing a summer bid for Ajax’s Christian Eriksen according to The Mirror.
The Anfield club have reportedly sent scouts to monitor the youngster over the last few months and look set to make a move after being impressed during final checks made on the player during the international break.
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is a firm admirer of Eriksen and had the player watched during Denmark’s World Cup qualification games against the Czech Republic and Bulgaria last week.
The Ajax playermaker’s current deal with the Dutch giants is set to expire at the end of next season. But the club are keen not to risk losing the player for nothing once his contract runs out and so are looking to move the player on during the summer transfer window.
Liverpool are likely to face competition for his signature though with Tottenham having also been strongly linked to the player.
The Reds will be hoping that they can persuade Eriksen to join them by exploiting the player’s former Ajax links with Luis Suarez and Daniel Agger.
Rodgers is keen to secure Eriksen for a reduced fee after the Liverpool hierarchy told him he would be given just £20 million to spend on new players this summer.
