Juventus striker Nicolas Anelka has denied speculation that he is on the verge of quitting the club according to Sky Sports.

Reports in the French media in recent days had suggested that Anelka was on the verge of agreeing the early termination of his contract with the Italian giants.

Anelka joined the club in February after a disappointing spell with Chinese side Shanghai Shenhua but has found his opportunities at the Old Lady restricted to just two substitute appearances.

The French striker has a long list of previous employers having enjoyed a career that has seen him appear for Arsenal, Real Madrid, PSG, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Bolton Wanderers, Fenerbahce and now Juventus.

The forward has been nicknamed ‘Le Sulk’ on account of previous incidents where he has shown a distinct lack of enthusiasm if things are not going his way.

But Anelka appears to have matured in his old age and insists he has no intention of leaving Juventus.

The 34 year old currently has a contract with the club that is due to expire at the end of the season but there is the possibility of a 12 month extension should both sides agree.

Juventus look set to win the Scudetto this season as they are currently nine points clear at the top of Serie A.
