Brazilian centre back looks set to remain in his homeland.
Vasco Da Gama centre back Dede looks set to disappoint Premier League clubs by remaining in his homeland, according to Goal.com.
The Brazilian centre back has become one of the most highly sought after defenders in the game after a number of impressive performances for his club and the Brazilian national team.
It is thought that the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool were both monitoring the player’s availability as they hoped to secure the player’s services.
But it now appears that the Premier League clubs have lost out in the race for the player’s signature with Dede instead looking set for a move to Brazilian side Cruzeiro.
Chelsea were thought to be keen to bring Dede to Stamford Bridge as they saw him as the perfect replacement for the ageing John Terry.
Brendan Rodgers was also keen to bring him to England with Liverpool as he prepares for life without the retiring Jamie Carragher.
Cruzeiro are appearing confident that they have landed the player thought and look set to pay £4.74 million for 45% of the player’s economic rights.
