Dutch giants deny youngster is on his way to Anfield.
Ajax have moved to deny reports linking Christian Eriksen with a move to Liverpool according to Sky Sports.
The Danish youngster is widely regarded as one of the brightest prospects in European football and is thought to be ready to leave the Eredivisie side this summer.
The 21 year old Danish international has hit the back of the net twelve times this season as his goals have fired Ajax to the top of the Dutch top flight.
Eriksen’s contract with the club expires at the end of next season and with the player looking unlikely to put pen to paper on a new deal, it has been suggested that Ajax would look to cash in on the player this summer rather than risk losing him for nothing in a year’s time.
A host of Premier League clubs have been linked with Eriksen including Tottenham, Manchester City and Arsenal.
But it is thought that Liverpool were at the front of the queue for the player’s services.
Anfield boss Brendan Rodgers is thought to be keen to bolster his attacking options and is known to be a firm admirer of the current Eredivisie Footballer of the Year.
But Ajax have insisted that no deal is current in place for Eriksen to leave the club this summer.
“We will send out a press release when there is an agreement,” the club announced.
“Also if there is only a deal between Ajax and the club. So at this time there is no agreement between Ajax and Liverpool.”
