30-goal hitman staying with Eagles despite top flight interest.
Crystal Palace striker Glenn Murray has signed a new three-year deal with the club despite being a target for a number of Premier League sides, Sky Sports reports.
Fulham and Aston Villa had both been rumoured to be interested in the 29-year-old, who’s deal was set to expire in less than 18 months.
The news will come as a bonus to Ian Holloway who is still harbouring hopes of climbing back into the Premier League, however, Palace find themselves in the middle of a slump and are only three points ahead of Bolton, Forest, and Leicester, all of whom could catch Palace up over the coming weeks.
Murray had agreed the new deal last month but only just got around to signing today. The Cumbrian born striker is currently enjoying his most prolific season in a long career that has seen him take in clubs like Carlisle, Rochdale, Stockport and Brighton, who he joined Palace from in 2011.
He has notched 30 goals in 28 games this term, a whole 23 more than he managed in 40 games last season.
Palace face promotion rivals Leicester this week before facing a final run in against Blackburn, Millwall and Peterborough where they will be expected to pick up maximum points and secure a valuable play off spot.
